To help us get the most out of your photography session, I’ve put together a short guide on what to expect and how we can prepare together. My goal is to create striking, story-rich images that showcase your space at its very best.
1. Pre-Shoot Preparation
Before the day of the shoot, I’ll confirm:
- The exact address and access instructions.
- Key features or areas you want to highlight.
- Whether a stylist, interior designer, or brand rep will be on site.
If you’re working with a stylist or dresser, I’m happy to coordinate with them in advance.
What I’ll Need From You:
- Easy access to the property (any codes, keys, or contacts I need).
- A clean, tidy space — ideally, everything in place before I arrive.
- Let me know if there are any areas not to be photographed.
2. On Arrival: Walkthrough & Planning
Once on site, we’ll start with a quick walk-through of the property together. This gives me a sense of the flow, lighting conditions, and any design details that are particularly important to you.
During the walk-through we’ll:
- Highlight priority areas and must-capture angles.
- Decide if any items need adjusting, removing, or styling.
- Discuss timing for natural light in key rooms, if needed.
3. Lighting & Timing
Lighting plays a major role in architectural photography. If natural light is a priority, we may need to:
- Schedule specific shots for certain times of day (e.g., east-facing rooms in the morning).
- Use artificial lighting in shaded areas or after dark for evening shots or moody atmospheres.
I’ll bring lighting gear as needed and will always adapt to the conditions on the day.
4. During the Shoot
I’ll work methodically, room by room, inside and out, capturing both wide shots and design details. I may adjust furniture slightly to enhance the composition — always with care and attention.
Helpful things during the shoot:
- If you or your team are on-site, it’s great to have someone available to help with small adjustments.
- If you’d prefer to leave me to it, that’s totally fine too.
Depending on the scale of the project, shoots typically take between 2–6 hours.
5. Post-Shoot
Once the shoot is complete:
- I’ll carefully curate and edit the best images.
- Final images will be delivered in high-resolution and web-ready formats within [X] days (we’ll confirm timing).
If you have a deadline or publication in mind, let me know in advance so I can prioritize accordingly.
